Ex Labore Dulcedo /
From Work Comes Sweetness

Ex Labore Dulcedo means "From Work Comes Sweetness." And what a true saying that proved to be for the busy bees at The Workhouse. To celebrate 10 successful years of business, after refreshing their brand and identity, The Workhouse designed a collection to celebrate the next decade. With no limits, they focused their attention on the same level of detail found at historical textile ateliers by the greatest fashion houses.

From detailed print finishes to bespoke touches, the entire collection was inspired by their love for craftsmanship. From hang tags on artisan chocolate boxes to lid labels on jars of farm-fresh honey, no element was left un-embellished or surface lacking shimmer and shine. This project is a testament to the decadent and proof that sometimes more really is more.

“The way in which all of the elements are working together here is just so delightful. A lot of production process went into just four folded panels, making the object feel like kind of a bigger deal than maybe it is. I mean that in the best way possible. Looking into the cover while folded really brings the viewer in, and it's obvious that a ton of intention went into how all of the layers fit together.”
