Digital printing doesn’t just keep up with your creative vision—it accelerates it. Built for the demands of modern production, Mohawk digital papers make it easy to personalize work, hit deadlines, and deliver visuals that stop people mid-page when we push the possibilities of beauty and function.
Digital printing technology never stops evolving, delivering exceptional quality with three main methods:
Dry Toner, Liquid Toner and Inkjet.
DRY TONER
Dry toner is made up of tiny pigment particles enclosed in microscopic polymer beads. In printing, these beads melt onto the substrate during the fusion process. An electrostatically charged drum collects the dry toner powder, which is then transferred to paper and permanently bonded by heat from a fuser.
LIQUID TONER
Liquid toner also employs pigments within polymer beads, dispersed in oil to mimic conventional inks. During the heating process, the oil evaporates. This technology integrates elements of offset and toner-based printing: electrostatically charged liquid ink forms an image on a plate (PIP), which is then transferred to paper via a heated blanket.
INKJET
Inkjet inks are formulated with pigments dissolved and dispersed in a liquid carrier. These colored inks are applied to the print substrate in minuscule droplets via jetting technology. This method enables the deposition of extremely fine droplets of liquid ink onto paper, producing high-resolution images.
As digital printing evolves from compromise to sophisticated tool—advances in color, texture, and fiber papers push the boundaries of what's possible.
