What Design Sounds Like

Recently, we had the distinct honor of supporting our friends at Design Observer in their presentation of “What Design Sounds Like,” a symposium on Sound and Visual Culture.

Presenters included a diverse collection of designers, creatives, thought leaders and influencers including Michael Bierut, Jessica Helfand, Steven Heller, Debbie Millman, and many others.

The symposium, presented at the Silas Theatre in the School of Visual Arts, NYC, drew a crowd of over 500 attendees.

“Having a long-standing relationship with Design Observer, Mohawk was thrilled to lend our support to the first What Design Sounds Like Symposium,” said  Chris Harrold, Mohawk’s Creative Director and Vice President of Business Development. “The symposium is evidence that Design Observer continues to be on the leading edge of thought leadership for design.”

Mohawk Superfine Eggshell Ultrawhite 100 text with iTone was selected for symposium programs, and Karl Heine, of creativeplacement, created beautifully inspiring and tactile designer journals for the conference, featuring Mohawk Options.

Heine selected Mohawk Options 100% PCW for the journals, “because Options’ proprietary Inxwell surface treatment and the 100% recycled content of the paper allows for really fabulous sketching with a  sharpie without bleedthrough, which are ideal qualities for note-taking.”
