Your holiday gift guide — with bigger monsters

Yes, monsters: Stefan Bucher’s monsters, offered in a dozen new guises, printed in large format and packaged in a custom portfolio. Since his 100 Days of Monsters days, Bucher has been delighting fear-o-philes with creatures that somehow manage to be diabolical and endearing at the same time. Maybe it’s their disco shoes; maybe it’s their unmannerly, unkempt, leering faces. Maybe it’s because they’re just like your relatives.

Ready to come home for the holidays (and possibly never leave), each member of this monstrous batch measures a generous 12 x 16 in., printed four-color with a double hit of black (for extra detail, not extra gloom) on Mohawk Options Smooth Digital 80-lb. cover. To keep their claws off the furniture, they’re ensconced in a custom case covered in color-shifting iridescent silk. And to ensure none of their grunge sullies your fingertips, each portfolio ships with a pair of archival gloves (actually the gloves are to protect these sumptuous prints). Just 100 portfolios will be produced.

The product of 16 months of work, they’re the apotheosis of abomination … and can only be purchased from the artist, here. But why take our word for it? Watch this vid featuring the ringmaster of monsters himself:
