#TBT: The way to a secretary’s heart is through her manicure?

These petite emery boards were the perfect promotion for Strathmore Boxed Papers (otherwise known as typewriter and commercial stationery circa 1950-1960?). We could not identify exactly what year they were from when we found them in the Strathmore archive. We believe a Strathmore paper sales rep would have left them behind as a reminder of all the beautiful writing papers available from Strathmore—a handy little packet of 10 mini filing sticks would hang around on the paper-orderer’s desk for a couple of months—an example of a very early ad specialty item.
