Cheney & Co is a communications and design agency in New Haven, Connecticut that specializes in developing branding campaigns to support independent schools. Annually, they organize the Aim High conference, specially designed for independent school communications professionals. They needed a simple way to demonstrate the beauty and efficiency of digital printing in the context of 1-to-1 marketing, and found an elegant and practical solution with the Mohawk Dimensional line of pre-converted substrates.
Mohawk, an annual supporter, showcased the beauty and power of personalized packaging digitally printed on Mohawk Dimensional 2-up Gift Boxes using Mohawk Superfine Eggshell paper at Harty Press. Cheney & Co filled the personalized boxes with candy for each conference participant.
Andrea Hopkins, Art Director at Cheney & Co said after she had seen the dimensional papers, “…I immediately thought how much fun they would be as a give away at our conference. I liked that we could also use them as a demonstration of both digital printing and variable data – both concepts that are difficult to convey to clients.” She went on to explain the process in designing and printing the boxes. “We had already come up with the idea of hot air balloons this year as our visual for the conference so when I saw this artwork I knew it was perfect for the gift boxes. We printed them in the morning while conference attendees were on a tour of the print shop, brought them back and assembled them each with a few chocolates inside and gave them away a few hours later. It really made the whole concept a lot more tangible for our conference attendees.”
There are over 50 layout formats to choose from in the Dimensional line, and the proprietary micro-perf technology enables simple assembly while eliminating the need for die-cutting and reducing turnaround time. Layouts are available on Mohawk Superfine Eggshell Digital, Mohawk Via Linen Digital, Mohawk Color Copy Ultra Gloss, Mohawk C1S, and Mohawk Synthetic Premium Polyester materials. Check out all the options in the PDF of our full catalog.
