[Cohoes, NY – July 15, 2014] Mohawk, North America’s largest privately-owned manufacturer of fine papers, envelopes and specialty substrates for commercial and digital printing, has developed a new website designed specifically for its customers in China. The new website (www.mohawkpaper.cn) launches live today.

The American fine paper brand, which earlier this year exhibited at the Luxe Pack Shanghai trade show for the first time, is making a dedicated effort to reach new customers in the Chinese marketplace through enhanced marketing and communications efforts.

“We are educating our current and potential customers in China about the benefits of buying premium paper from Mohawk,” said F. Joseph O’Connor, Senior Vice President, International Sales, Mohawk. “We felt it was important to communicate Mohawk’s dedication to product quality, the depth and breadth of our product lines, as well as our steadfast commitment to protecting environmental resources. Our new website has been designed to communicate all these attributes directly to our customers in China.”

The website was designed by Chinese web design group Shanghai Idea-Source Information Technology Co. Ltd.  Content highlights Mohawk’s company history, global distribution, business markets, as well as its broad range of fine papers and digital substrates including synthetics, pressure sensitive, magnets, embedded forms, dimensional products and photo products. The website includes contact information for Mohawk sales and marketing staff in Shanghai.

The website also features an overview and history of Mohawk’s longstanding environmental commitment, social responsibility and corporate stewardship initiatives, which are woven into the fabric of Mohawk’s culture and business practices.

As a leader in environmentally and socially responsible business practices, Mohawk was the first U.S. manufacturer of commercial printing papers to match 100% of its electricity with wind power renewable energy credits and the first U.S. premium paper mill to shift toward carbon neutral production. Mohawk’s portfolio of recycled papers is certified by Green Seal and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Mohawk takes pride in the company’s numerous environmental partnerships and certifications, including longstanding alliances with:

From simple activities like desk-side recycling, to designing and providing a unique Environmental Calculator on the company’s website, to complex decisions about manufacturing techniques, energy choices and vendor selection, nothing is left unexamined by Mohawk, a company that truly walks the talk when it comes to its environmental commitment.
