Mohawk Supports Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event

2013 marked the 16th year Mohawk has supported the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event in Albany, New York. This year Making Strides raised more than $965,000 in the fight against breast cancer.

Much progress has been made in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. This is in part due to the efforts of the American Cancer Society (ACS), which educates the public and raises awareness about this disease through events like Making Strides.

In addition to funding breast cancer research, the ACS provides many valuable patient and family support services in our community. Every dollar raised by Making Strides is earmarked for ACS’s breast cancer programs.

Mohawk employees in the Capital Region are encouraged to participate in the event as part of Mohawk’s employee wellness program. Mohawk employees have always enthusiastically supported the Making Strides event, and this year was no exception.

On Sunday, October 20, fourteen Mohawk employees participated with their families, and in total, there were 15,000 walkers involved in the event.

It was a beautiful day in Albany’s Washington Park and Mohawk proudly raised $1,080 for the ACS. To date, Mohawk has raised a total of over $49,500 dollars for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Special thanks to Michelle Carpenter, for her efforts organizing Mohawk’s participation, encouraging donations and rallying the Mohawk team!
