Hungry for Wide Format Meet Mohawks Expanded Inkjet Portfolio-02

What ingredients form the perfect recipe to whet the appetite of any print shop owner? Try a dollop of enormous ROI potential, a pinch of minimal initial investment, and a splash of high-demand product.

Crank up the heat and voilà – you have one of the print industry’s fastest-growing markets: wide format printing!

According to InfoTrends, the digitally printed wide format market carries a global retail value of $55 billion, and is expected to grow at a 6.5% CAGR through 2017.

What drives wide format printing?

We are greeted by wide format signage nearly anywhere we turn, acting to inform us of businesses, conveying brands, and communicating unique selling propositions.

Its impact can’t be denied. 76 percent have entered a store for the first time based on signage alone. Meanwhile, 68 percent have purchased a product because its signage caught their eye.

Smart marketers are paying attention

study evaluating the share of marketing budget that was allocated towards wide format signage found that, on average, 16.1% of all marketing dollars are spent on wide format graphics.

What are the most common wide format print applications? That honor belongs to banners, posters, signs, and point-of-purchase displays.

Substrates to fit any application and ink type

The Mohawk Wide Format Inkjet portfolio has expanded to over 100 substrates that support a variety of applications and print technologies.

Whether your print technology uses Aqueous (Dye, Pigment or Memjet), Solvent, Eco-Solvent, Latex or UV-Cured inks – there are a range of products available to support your customer’s applications. Many of these products are also compatible across multiple ink types, and available in a variety of widths from 30 to 60 inches.

New portfolio. Endless possibilities.

From outdoor displays to repositionable pressure sensitive polyester signage, and everything in-between, Mohawk’s expanded portfolio is specially formulated to address all of your needs. Let’s take a closer look:

Backlit Films: Perfect for eye-catching outdoor signage during dark hours or to funnel customer attention indoors. Mohawk’s Backlit Films are available in gloss or matte finishes and are comprised of a specially formulated construction to give backlit images an incredible pop.

Lightblock Films: Ideal for pop-up displays and roller banners, Mohawk’s portfolio features lightblock films with matte, gloss, textured, and satin finishes. Use of the textured surface may eliminate the need for lamination while also providing excellent light-blocking properties. A two-sided option is available and is perfect for double-sided banners with no show-through.
Unique Films: In addition to lightblock and backlit film substrates, the Mohawk portfolio also includes specialty film products. This includes Clear Separation Gloss Film – an optically clear film for screen separations, overlays and specialty displays – as well as Silver Gloss Films and a Textured Black Film, a unique product perfect for UV-cured white ink technologies.
Adhesives: Available in a range of strengths – including permanent, removable and ultra removable – the Mohawk Wide Format Inkjet Adhesives are ideal for indoor signage, wall graphics, decals and point-of-sale displays for verticals such as retail, hospitality, restaurants and more.
Specialty: A range of specialty substrates are available across ink systems and application uses. Mohawk Satin Tear-Resistant Fabric, compatible with Solvent, Latex, and UV-Cured systems, is a unique non‐woven banner material that mirrors the appearance of paper. DuPont™ Tyvek®, for use on aqueous and Memjet inkjet systems, is well suited for indoor and outdoor signage (containing outdoor resistant properties, for up to three months without lamination, when printed with pigmented inks).

Paper: Specially developed for high-speed aqueous and Memjet inkjet systems, Mohawk Wide Format Gloss Paper enables fast drying, sharp lines, wide color gamut, and high image durability for indoor applications.
