Congratulations Mohawk Show 12 Winners

Slash Lede

[Kim Rogala] It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it. Someone had to view, touch, hold, read and judge the hundreds and hundreds of beautiful, creative, interesting, amusing, eye-catching, shocking, inspiring pieces of work that were entered into the Mohawk Show 12 … interestingly enough, there was no shortage of designers willing to take on the task.

This year’s jury for the Mohawk Show, Show Chair Stanley Hainsworth of Tether, illustrator Jorge Alderete, Michael Jager of JDK Design and Susana Rodrigues de Tembleque of SY Partners, were all very willing and enthusiastic participants. And their choices for the Mohawk Show 12 Winners have been announced.

But before we tell you who the winners are, we want you to hear from some of the people who were involved. Stanley Hainsworth, show chair and magnificently coiffured designer extraordinaire, said of the winners, “We saw some very modest projects rise to the surface because the design, paper and execution elevated them to winner’s status in a very strong field of entries.”

Michael Jager (pronounced like the infamous Mick), creative director of the firm that Fast Company called “a bizarro creative hit squad,” blogged about his jury experience, “What is clear is that communication is multidimensional, and paper has woken up to the fact that it is part of a matrix for communicating ideas.” You can read Michael’s full post on the JDK Design blog and also see some of the other Mohawk Show entries that caught his eye here.

Stay tuned for more in-depth stories about each of the winning pieces and the designers behind the work. We will post about each of them starting in September. But until then, the winners are …
