Making its long-awaited New York debut, Typeface will premiere at the Parsons Festival 2012.

Typeface is Justine Nagan’s film about the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum, where international artists meet retired craftsmen and together navigate the convergence of modern design and traditional technique.

The screening will take place next Monday, May 14, at 1 p.m., followed by a panel discussion with designers and Nagan.

We first told you about Typeface when the film was released in 2009. Since the film’s release, the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum has gained attention for events held on its premises such as Wayzgoose, which draws international crowds and type design legends like Matthew Carter, Paul Shaw and David Shields.

If you can’t make the New York screening, you can order your own copy of Typeface. [KR]
