Earth Day is right around the corner — Sunday, April 21. If you’re in the San Francisco area, you are invited to join the letterpress and bindery fun at the San Francisco Center for the Book. They will be hosting an interactive Earth Day extravaganza in letterpress printing and binding with free activities focused on sustainability and the book arts. There will even be “squid” printing! Read on for more details.
Bring the whole family for activities which include making prints of creatures from the sea, letterpress printed lists on how to save the earth, and binding simple journals from reusable materials.
You can even get up close and personal with a Humboldt squid — yes, a real squid! (thanks to The Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary). Learn how to ink it up to make a beautiful print!
Come spend Earth Day (Sunday, April 21) at the San Francisco Center for the Book at 300 De Haro Street, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. More information here.
